VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

AID STATION CAPTAIN

Captains are responsible for overseeing all aid station activities. They will be in close communication with the event staff. Previous trail race or aid station volunteer experience is recommended. Aid Station Captains will assist in the recruitment of aid station teams for their aid station.

 

Primary race day responsibilities: manage aid station volunteers, track runners, manage and communicate supply needs, relay information to Race Director, and provide directional assistance.

Lodging (on us!) in Big Bear is available - first come, first served! Priority will go to those spending 12+ hours with us, especially the overnight shifts.

 

AID STATION VOLUNTEER

Volunteers assist with aid station setup, maintenance, and breakdown.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Tracking runners

- Providing directional support

- Distribute fluids and food

- Organize drop bags

 

Aid station hours vary, many shift times available on both Friday & Saturday.

 

COURSE MARSHAL

Course Marshals will be positioned at key intersections on-course to provide directional assistance to runners as they maneuver the trails. In certain situations, course marshals will be on radio or stationed at road crossings where runners are required to yield to vehicular traffic. These positions require a minimum age of 18, unless accompanied by an adult.

 

START/FINSIH LINE VOLUNTEER

Festival volunteers will help event staff manage and monitor the Start/Finish Line Festival. Various positions are available and include: packet pickup & registration, race food, gear check/drop bag return, handing out finish line medals, etc.
