****VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE YOUR TRAINING RUN INTO RIM NORDIC (ACROSS FROM SNOW VALLEY). THE OWNERS OF RIM NORDIC HAVE ASKED US TO STAY OFF THEIR TRAILS EXCEPT FOR DURING THE RACE. RIM NORDIC HOSTS MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDING AND IT IS DANGEROUS TO HAVE UNEXPECTED RUNNERS ON THEIR TRAILS. PLEASE STAY OUT OF RIM NORDIC AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.****
Start: 7AM at ASPEN GLEN PICNIC AREA. Link for directions: https://goo.gl/maps/N1A9YkFio522. Please arrive early to sign-in.
(Adventure Pass $5 needed for parking lot. Otherwise you can park on the street for free. Take note of No Parking signs.)
This run will start by heading up Cabin 89 trail toward Grandview. Once you hit Grandview you will head west on the Skyline single track trail going toward Champion. Just over a mile before Champion you exit Skyline trail going left onto forest service road 2N10 and then turn left onto forest service road 2N11. The aid station will be setup at the end of 2N11 (mile 8.2). After that you hit Siberia Creek trail and it's a downhill single track with some gnarly terrain here and there. The descent is 7 miles (-3,000ft) until you hit Bear Creek where you can splash some water on yourself. Or, bring a filter and fill up your water bottles! The 3 mile (+2,200ft) climb out of the canyon will be a hot one! Once you climb out you'll take a left on the forest service road and then cut left into the makeshift trail that runs parallel to the highway for a little under a mile. Arrive at Snow Valley Ski Resort. (Tip: The Snow Valley restrooms are probably open here!)
DRIVING/CARPOOLING LOGISTICS
This is a point-to-point route so if you decide to drive to the start (Aspen Glen), MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RIDE BACK TO YOUR CAR. Otherwise, you can park at Snow Valley and carpool to the start. Please try to arrange your own carpool with others you know are coming. We'll get as many people as we can to help us shuttle people from Snow Valley to the start, but space is limited to our personal vehicles and you MUST confirm if space is available first. We will depart Snow Valley at 6:15AM to drive to the start! (The drive is 20 minutes.)

We can drive a limited # of people to Mile 8.2 to make it a shorter run (option #3). You MUST confirm with us in advance and check if there is space.

**These training runs will NOT be marked. It is your responsibility to know the route.
We HIGHLY recommend downloading this map into Gaia (or your app of choice), then download the map area offline so you can use your phone in airplane mode to guide you. You can download the route by clicking "Export" in Caltopo and then choosing the ".gpx" option. Download the .gpx file from your phone or you can download it on your computer and then email it to yourself. Then you will upload (import) the .gpx track into the Gaia app on your mobile device. **Don't wait to do this until the morning of the run, try it in advance!**
MANDATORY GEAR
Get used to carrying your mandatory gear for the race! You will NOT be allowed to exit the Champion aid station with less than 2L of water. While this is the minimum, we recommend you carry closer to 3L. (Trust us, this will save your race!)
