

Big Bear National Trails Day is a day to celebrate the beautiful Bear Valley trails! Kodiak Ultra Marathons and the Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation are partnering to bring you a fun-filled day of running, hiking, and a chance to learn about trail maintenance and try it out.
The trail run is a fundraiser event supporting the Trails Foundation and will consist of:
• 5K – Hike or Run (8am)
• Half Marathon Run (7am)
• Marathon Run (6:30am)
• 50K Run (6am)
If you joined us for our Trails Day event last year, you know you won’t want to miss out on the fun this year! We will again have a finish line festival with food, beer, and music. We will also be raffling off some super cool items donated by our generous sponsors.

Parking: After lot fills up, you may park along Mill Creek Road. This is a forest service road and parking is only allowed on the WEST side of the street as marked.

The 50K will have ~4,000+ feet of elevation gainloss, the Marathon will be have about 3500 feet of elevation gain/loss while the Half Marathon will have about 2500 ft of gain/loss. Mileage and elevation gain is approximate.
Note - You can view an elevation profile of each course by clicking the small graph icon, just to the right of your route’s name on the left hand toolbar. To isolate each course on the map, uncheck the courses you don't want to see. Play around. Caltopo is very powerful and cool!
Overall Cut-off times:
50K: 9 hours
Marathon: 7.5 hours
1/2 Marathon: 4 hours
AID STATIONS



TRAIL WORK
Check in will start at 8:30am and Trail Maintenance will kick-off at 9am. We will work in small groups and each group will head up the trail on a rolling basis after arriving. We’ll all get down and dirty until about 12PM and then head back to the picnic area for the festivities. Please invite your family and friends to sign up to help! We hope all runners and hikers finishing before noon will join in the fun. Open to all ages, children must be supervised.
All trail work volunteers will receive:
• Trails Day swag item
• Free lunch
• Free beer (21+)
• Raffle ticket
